Word Island is the ultimate word and typing game for players both young and old. Players control “Word Monkeys” located in a secret, forgotten region of a lush, tropical rainforest. Guide the monkeys as you find words through a series of mini games and activities. All the gameplay is driven by the player’s ability to find and/or type words. WORD ACTIVITIES:
Jungle Word Scramble –The monkeys are collecting coconuts in the palm trees with letters engraved on them. Choose letters in the correct order to form words and the monkeys will throw the selected coconuts down for you. Make as many words as you can in the time allotted. Longer words are worth more points, so put on your thinking-cap!

Ancient Temple Word Scramble – The monkeys love to play in the ancient Mayan-like ruins with all the letter block-bricks. The monkeys will work with you to use the letter blocks to make words.


TYPING ACTIVITIES:
Waterfall – Help the monkey climb up the waterfall as you type words attached to rocks and branches. Type quick! Whatever you are standing on will break if you don’t type fast enough!

River Rage – Words carved into logs are floating towards you from upstream. Your monkey friends are on the other side of the river. You must type the words to make it across the raging river, and away from the waterfall behind you!

• Point System – Different activities will have different scoring systems.
• Word Activities:
• Points - Points will also be based on the amount of letters in a created word. Bonus letters will give more points, and take players to Bonus Round.
• Time – Players will have allotted amounts of time to find words, but can increase it as they find words. The final time remaining will be shown for the player.
• Typing Activities:
• Speed – How fast the player types the words will be the key scoring component to the typing activities. A timer will keep track of this in the background in each of the activities
• Accuracy – You must create real words, or you will be forced to start over if you don’t type accurately within a given amount of time.
